Servicing

Add each boiler or cylinder as equipment with a service interval. JobNote lists what's due and overdue, and you book them in as jobs.

The starter boiler checklist covers the appliance's condition, flue, CO and CO2 readings, system pressure, controls and the condensate pipe. The hot water cylinder checklist covers the T&P relief valve, expansion vessel pressure, stored water temperature and the thermostat and immersion. Change them to suit how you work.

Gas Safe records

A JobNote service record is not a Gas Safe record (CP12), and it says so on the record. Do your gas paperwork in the app you use now and attach the PDF to the boiler in JobNote, so the customer sees it next to the service history.

Gas certificates built into JobNote are on the roadmap. They'll only be available to engineers set up for gas.

Breakdowns and installs

• Take the call, create the job and send it to the engineer's phone.
• Quote a new boiler or bathroom on site and send it before you leave.
• Book out parts at cost, including the ones bought at the merchant on the way.
• Invoice from the job, with VAT if you're registered.
